On Thursday 30th March Sparrow Training Solutions was asked to assist with the de-rig of one of its sister company’s pedestrian operated tower cranes.

It was situated just off Gloucester Road in Bristol and was in a residential area with very tight access, and adjacent to one of the major routes into Bristol.

The cranes are very popular because of their maximum 30m boom length and still able to be able to pick up 1100kg

The other added benefits of these cranes is their ability to stay locked off in windy conditions (80mph+)

The other big benefit is the retracting jib which can help prevent over-sailing issues
